PRESIDENT LAUREL |
Built by the Pennsylvania Shipyards, Beaumont, Texas: laid down as the 'Cape Barnabas' and completed in April, 1943, she was bareboat chartered to the Norwegian Government and named 'General Fleischer'. She was sold to Wilh. Wilhelmsen on October, 1946 and renamed 'Tortugas'. The Philippine President Lines acquired her 1967 and renamed her 'Emilio Aquinaldo': later that year she became the 'President Laurel'. In 1975 she was bought by Barracuda Shipping Inc. and renamed 'Lucky Nine', going to shipbreakers in Kaohsiung that year. |
