LAURENTIC

The Shaw Savill & Albion Line vessel LAURENTIC on trials. Built by Vickers- Armstrongs Ltd , Newcastle -on - Tyne in 1965. A sister ship the ZEALANDIC was built at the same time by Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd, Glasgow both vessels were built for the UK - NZ service. The vessels were powered by Sulzer oil engines and had a service speed of 18 knots.
