(precidion of a watchmaker)

The Portuguese m/v ALGER, 47m/430,68gt/9kn; 05/1930 completed by J. Smit & Zoon, Foxhol, as OLDAMBT for N.V. Motorvrachtvaart (Onnes), Groningen. 1936 ALGER, Vieira & Labrincha, Lda, Lisbon; 1951 ALGER, Vieira & Silveira, Lda, Lisbon; Early 80's laid up at Talaminho, Amora, river Tagus estuary where I presume she was broken up in 1998. In later 40s on passage Newfoundland to Oporto, with a cargo of dry codfish engine breakdown in middle Atlantic and she was towed to Oporto by Lisbon pilot tugboat COMANDANTE PEDRO RODRIGUES; 29/06/1969 she was aground near Peniche, but was refloated one day after; 18/09/1969 when entering in River Coina, a River Tagus affluent, had a collision with the Lavradio/Seixal railway bridge making damages.
Seen early 70's docked at Lisbon with a "precision of a watcmaker".
