Porto di Genova
Circa 1969, Molo Giano (Giano Wharf), Port of Genova (Genoa), Italy.

The road, or pier, that leads to the lighthouse in the centre of the image is the .

The lighthouse, formerly known as the 'Pilots Tower' still stands.

The crude oil tanker to the right side is the:
'GEORGE F. GETTY' - IMO 5128687
Launched on 08/07/1956, and completed during January 1957 by Chantiers D'Alantique, St. Nazaire, France (B17)
33,704 g.t. & 57,145 dwt., as:
'George F. Getty', until sold to Taiwan for demolition.

Arrived at Kaohsiung on 16/05/1975.

To the right of the tanker is a beige coloured 'leading light' tower, used to guide ships into this harbour at night or in poor visibility.
Looking at Google maps, it seems to have been demolished, probably due to the fact that the entire area is now a marina.
To the right of the leading light tower is a square, brown coloured, building with a large curved arch entry.

To the far right side, behind the tanker, and above the light tower, is a structure with distinctive corner architecture & supporting arches.
Google maps shows its masses of windows to be glazed. It is a huge building of sorts, but I cannot find out what it's function is.

Scanned from a slide.
From the collection of the late Niels Anker Larsen, former Danish Merchant Navy Radio Officer.
