The Guided Missile Speed Boat SAAR IV was built in the Ship?s Yards of the port of Haifa for the Israel Navy in 1973, with the name ?INS Keshet? (?Arch?)

The 30th of December of 1980, at the base of Sharem El Sheikh, Eilat, the former INS Keshet' hoists the National Flag of Chile, being renamed as LM 31 'Chipana'. In January of 1981, the LM 'Chipana' sailed off with course to Chile, where she arrives the first days of the month of February.

At present, the LM.31 'Chipana' is part of the South Command of Guided Missile Speed Boats, based in the port of Punta Arenas, ensuring national sovereignty in these southern seas.
