Fish meal factory ship. Built 1947 as Thorshavet for A/S Ornen (A/S Thor Dahl, managers) by Harland and Wolff, Belfast (yard no. 1348), as a whale factory ship. Lengthened 1955. 1969 acquired by Astra Overseas Fishing Ltd., Bermuda, for conversion to a fish protein factory ship, and renamed Astra. 14-07-1974 in collision with Karonga off Bissao, in approximately 11.50N 17.30W, and sank on the 17th.
