MANILA BAY, Philippines - (May 23, 2006) – Aviation Warfare Systems Operator Second Class, Aviation Warfare Specialist / Naval Air Crewman (AW2 (AW/NAC)) Michael A. Giraud, of San Francisco, observes the Military Sealift Command (MSC) hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) while anchored off of the coast of Manila, from a MH-60S Helicopter. AW2 (AW/NAC) Giraud is attached to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Twenty-five (HSC-25) Island Knights, and is deployed on Mercy for a five-month humanitarian deployment to South and Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands where its crew and several health and civic-related organizations will work together to aid in humanitarian assistance and civic efforts.
