CARRICK
CARRICK
Taken at the Scottish Maritime Museum at Irvine in July 1998 where she has been since 1993.
She was built by Pile Hay at Monkwearmouth in 1864 as CITY OF ADELAIDE and ran to Australia before becoming a hospital at Southampton then a training ship on the Clyde when she was renamed CARRICK. She later became the RNVR Club HQ in Glasgow until 1990 when she was taken away downriver to Princes Dock in Glasgow where she sank at her moorings.

She was raised and eventually taken to Irvine but had very little done to her unfortunately mainly due to lack of funding.

There have been various schemes to repatriate her to Sunderland but so far nothing has come of them. She is in a much worse condition now than in this shot.
