German Steamer CINTRA, imo 5609468/ 68m/ 1.144gt/ 8,5kn/ crew 17/ pax 8; 03/12/1888 completed by Schiffswerft von Henry Koch AG, Lubeck, for Oldenburg Portugiesische Dampfschiffs Rhederei, Oldenburg; 23/12/1909 aground in the river Douro, near the bar, due that river great flood of 12/1909. Some of the crew of 17 trying salvage left the ship in two boats in order reaches north bank, unfortunately one boat capsized and 4 drowned including the captain. Those that remained on board were rescued some days later by a local lifeboat assisted by a tugboat when the waters lowered. CINTRA was considered total constructive loss and she was breaking up in the wreck place.
