Alongside Brigham & Cowans, South Shields, March 1967. The grey hulled vessel lying across the river at Smiths Dock, North Shields, is the Galway (Australind Steam Shipping Co.) built by Smiths Dock, Middlesborough, in 1959. In this picture Galway was waiting to be drydocked for lengthening, an extra hatch and mast were installed ahead of her bridge structure.

Galway passed to the P&O group in 1972 and was renamed Strathinver, in 1975. The following year she was renamed Golden Fortune after her sale to Greek owners.

Driven aground at Hong Kong in 1983 during a typhoon she was sold to local breakers while still aground.
