UNION NEW ZEALAND

The Camit class was a very basic design as with most standard built vessels. Designed for a crew of 17 ment that the higher manning scales on the NZ coast created what may have been relatively comfortable conditions into more cramped with most of the crew were accommodated in 2 berth cabins, because of this they were not popular ships. Fully loaded these vessels were submarines and in rough weather the only safe place to get out on deck was the wings of the bridge.
