VILLE DE BORDEAUX
VILLE DE BORDEAUX
Ex SAGA (Swedish Lloyd).
Saga was designed for winter cruising, undertaking voyages in her first year to Norway and the Canaries. Saga was joined by a further new building, the Patricia, in 1951. These four ships proved to have far too much capacity for the London Gothenburg route, even in summer, and Saga was sold to CGT (French Line) in 1956, followed by Patricia's sale to Hamburg America in 1957, leaving the 1929 sisters to run alone until car ferries arrived in 1966.

Ville de Bordeaux was used by CGT (French Line) to replace the Maroc on the Bordeaux-Casablanca service. She then moved to Marseille/Nice-Corsica services in 1960. Ville de Bordeaux was sold to Bulgaria in 1964, and ran between Varna and USSR ports as the Nessebar until 1975, when she was scrapped.

History:
Saga - Swedish Lloyd: 1946-56
Ville de Bordeaux - French Line (CGT): 1956-64 (Ligne du Maroc)
Nessebar - Balkenturist: 1964-75
