A few days ago on the 26th February, this laden bulker limped into Las Palmas with, one assumes, major engine trouble. Apparently on a voyage from Saint Petersburg to New Orleans which commenced back on 25/01/2011. After being laid over on a spare berth at the OPSCA Container terminal, the big salvage tug ''Rotterdam' picked up the tow and set off for Lisbon at a sedate speed (e.t.a. 10/03). In this view, the local harbour tugs are preparing to assist her off the berth while the ''Rotterdam'' -unseen, off to the left- gets into position ahead. Built in 2003 by Shanghai Shipyard, Shanghai, China (195), 22,654 g.t. and 37,641 dwt. Unusually registered in Montego Bay, Jamaica, but ultimately German owned. Regards, Rick
