MANUIA

The hulk of the MANUIA having the final work done on her prior to being scuttled in Cook Strait.
The vessel was used in Sir Peter Jackson's version of the King Kong movie. The vessel has been laid up at Wellington for the last 5 years and at 54 years old she is well past her best.
It was hoped to use her as a dive attraction off Wellington's south coast but resource consents were not approved.
