ATHELVISCOUNT

The ATHELVISCOUNT is assisted from Wellington's floating dock by the Union Co, tug TAPUHI. The ATHELVISCOUNT was the first tanker chartered for the carriage of petroleum products around the NZ coast.The Union Steam Ship Co, was appointed managers and operated the vessel from1965 -78. Cargoes were loaded at the newly completed Marsden Point oil refinery at Whangarei.
