Astilleros Luzuriaga, in Passages, delivered between 1931 and 1932, the TRINTXER-PE and TRINTXER-ALDE trawlers to Pasaiatarra owner Francisco Andonaegui Garmendia, the most important of then Prime guipuzcoano fishing port. Its design was similar to other contemporary fish of the same type and size, but had an eccentricity: for the propulsion system of a diesel internal combustion engine, a novelty at that time was chosen, instead of machines traditional alternatives and their corresponding steam boilers fueled by coal. The change gave the attendant advantages of weight and volume, but had some other problem, as we'll see later. The brand new pair of trawlers built with steel hull officially shared (as LOB) a gross tonnage of 115.51 tons, net tonnage of 68.09 tons, 23.70 meters long, 5.44 wide, 3 23 prop and 3.10 draft. After the central bridge, a small and low fireplace betrayed the presence within the differentiator: A semi-engine 180 IHP (signature Bolinder, with two cylinders and manufactured by Talleres Yeregui) that gave them a maximum speed of 8 knots . Consumption in their tanks could store up to 32 tons of diesel, which allowed them a good autonomy. |
