New Zealand Government passenger/cargo vessel Moana Roa was built by Grangemouth Dockyard in 1960 for the Auckland to Cook Islands service She was partially refrigerated and had accommodation for 40 passengers. In 1974 she was sold to the Royal New Zealand Navy and converted into the survey ship Monowai. Eventually broken up in Spain in 2003. Seen at Lyttelton, other ships are Port Montreal and Canopic. |
