Hwah-Yih

The Chinese "Hwah-Yih" is the former Austrian "Silesia" of Lloyd Austriaco. Launched 15.11.98 and completed 02.99 by Wigham Richardson in Newcastle she was used in the service to the Far East. Laid up at Shanghai when war broke out in August 1914 "Silesia" was taken over by the Chinese Government in 1917 and renamed "Hwah-Yih". 1934 renamed to "Hwah An" she disappeared from Lloyd's Register in 1936.
