HAWEA |
The Union Steam Ship Company vessel HAWEA (1967) surges ahead on her sea trials off Hong Kong. Built by the Taikoo Dockyard at Hong Kong for the Union Co's coastal trade between Auckland,Lyttelton and Dunedin.The introduction of the HAWEA by the company signaled a move away from conventional ships. In 1970 the HAWEA was joined by a near sister the WANAKA in the coastal service. |
