'French Shell' tanker Vola. Built in 1956 at Hebburn by Hawthorn Leslie Ltd. 2 Steam turbines giving service speed of 16 kts. Dwt 32,330. Very similar to Volvula, built by Swan Hunters, also in 1956 for the same owners, Societe Maritime Shell.
