WAIRATA |
One of the diesel powered versions of the C1-A type American built standard designs the Wairata was delivered in 1943 as Cape Igvak and sailed as such until 1947 when bought by Union SS Company. She had two engines driving a single screw through electro-magnetic couplings to give 14 knots. Sold in 1967 she was renamed Successful Day and broken up in Kaohsiung in 1972. |
