USA pass/cargo liner MORRO CASTLE, imo 2230069/ 160m/ 11.520gt/ 20kn/ 419 pax/ 240 crew; 15/08/1930 completed by Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co., Newport News, for New York and Cuba Mail Steamship Co. (Ward Lines), New York; 08/09/1934 caught fire off Long Beach Island and eventually beached herself near Ashbury Park, New Jersey, and remained there for several months until she was towed off; 14/03/1935 sold to breakers at Baltimore for breaking up; 135 pax/crew were lost from a total of 549 on board.
