Speed: 18.75 knots. The ship was named after Walter Ulbricht, who was First Secretary of the East German Socialist Unity(communist) Party from 1950 to 1971. In 1992-following the end of the communist era, the ship was renamed PRIOZERSK (in keeping with the P names of most of the other 15 Mercators in the Russian fleet). 1997-renamed OZERSK 2000-to breakers at Alang, India 15/12. |
