Alongside the AstiCan ship repair yard at Las Palmas on 29/11/2009, towards the end of a three month+ repair and overhaul contract.

Built in 1981 by Götaverken, Arendal as “Safe Gothia” to 2000, “Stena Tay” since 28,592 g.t.

Described as an ultra-deep water, dynamically positioned, twin pontoon, column stabilised

drilling unit,; capable of drilling operations in up to 8,100 ft.of water.

She underwent a major upgrade in 1999 by the Far East Levingston Shipyard, Singapore May 1999 for a 5 year deepwater drilling and development contract with Shell.
