Built in 1944 by A.Hall & Co of Aberdeen as Empire Jane.
1944-46 Owned by British Ministry of War and Transport.
1946-47 Ministry of Transport France, Fenwick Tyne & Wear Co Ltd of Newcastle as Managers.
1947 Acquired by Union Steamship Co along with her sister Empire Shirley renamed Tapuhi
Handed over in Singapore. The Empire Shirley towed the Empire Jane to Cairnes where she recieved attention. They then both steamed to Sydney and then to Wellington.
1948 Emoire Jane was renamed Taioma and Empire Shirley Tapuhi.
1975 Sold to B.P. New Zealand Ltd no name change. Registered to a B.P.Subsidiary Developement Services Ltd of Wellington with Union Steamship Co as Managers.
1978 Sold to Robert A Owens of Tauranga. Towed to Tauranga and placed in permanent position as Maritime Museum on land. 8th July 1978 and officially opened 23 July 1979
2000 Due to deteriation she was removed from Museum status on shore, refloated and scuttled as a dive wreck of Motiti Island near Mt Maunganui 19th March 2000 in a position 37.39s 176.25,4E
