SOUTHERN CROSS

The SOUTHERN CROSS (1955) enters the water having just been launched by Queen Elizabeth . The ship was to have a long career of nearly 50 years though sadly the Shaw Savill Line would only operate the ship for a short few years. The fact the ship lasted so long is a credit to her designers and builders - a time when British was best !
