Yelcho

The 205-foot Yelcho had been built in 1942 for the U.S. Navy as the fleet tug USS Tekesta, and earned four battle stars in the Pacific. She was sold in 1960 to the Chilean Navy, who renamed her in honor of their earlier Yelcho which had famously rescued the 1916 British Trans-Antarctic Expedition from Elephant Island.
