BANFIELD LIFEBOAT |
Preserved by the Port Alberni Maritime Society, Banfield Lifeboat served at Banfield Creek on the west coast of Vancouver Island between 1951 and 1969. The station was established in 1908 after the steamship Valencia sank close by with the loss of 126 lives. The name Banfield became Bamfield in the 1960's. |
