The Adeline Hugo Stinnes 3 was a cargo ship, which was requisitioned in the First World War by the Imperial Navy of the German Reich and converted in 1918 to a mothership for seaplanes.
The 2709 GRT large ship ran 1909 at the Bremen volcano in Bremen-Vegesack from the stack. It was 104.2 m long and 13.8 m wide and had a draft of 6.7 m. Its triple-expansion steam engine produced 1700 horsepower and allowed a top speed of about 10 knots. The ship belonged to Hugo Stinnes Schiffahrt in M?lheim / Ruhr.
After the outbreak of war in August 1914, the ship was taken over by the Imperial Navy as a coal ship. In early 1918, the conversion to the seaplane mother ship. The ship was able to take up to three seaplanes, which were parked unprotected on the deck. However, it is unclear whether the Adeline Hugo Stinnes 3 was ever used as an aircraft mothership.
The ship was delivered after the war as a reparation payment to Belgium. In 1936 it was sold to Finland and scrapped in 1964.
