The Mobil Apex was built by Alexander Stephen at Linthouse as yard number 668 in 1960 and was a steam turbine powered tanker of 19180 tons dwt with a speed of 15.5 knots. On 30 April 1969 she suffered a serious fire at St Croix, Virgin Islands and was declared a CTL. Sold to Norwegian owners and rebuilt at Kristiansand as an 'all-aft' motor-tanker and renamed Pollo. In 1977 she became Red Sea Venture, 1980 Ciron, 1984 Auma, 1985 Izara. In 1995 she was hulked at Calabar and is thought to have been broken up in 1997.
