HMAS MELBOURNE

HMAS Melbourne (ex-HMS Majestic) - a Majestic class light fleet carrier. Laid down 1943, launched 1945 and completed 1955. She looks to have her entire compliment of aircraft on deck as, after her 1969 refit, she carried 8 A-4G Skyhawks, 6 S-2E Trackers and Wessex helicopters. was paid off in 1982 and sold for scrapping in China in 1985 from magazine/ press photo in collection
