Lyttelton
Lyttelton
I purchased this postcard of Lyttelton about 1960. According to my young eyes of those days identification, other than the Morris 1000 - the ships are, in the foreground the stern of the Australind of 1944, the coaster is definitely the Pateke, the warbuilt 'Ocean' beyond I have as the Cape Corso, without doubt the vessel on the other side of the wharf is Union Company's Navua when painted white in the islands trade, the Federal ship I recorded as Sussex and beyond her two further certanties, the Maori and Hororata. On the Breastwork I think is Richardson's Pukeko of 1928 but can't see enough of the others to evn try and identify them.
