Agenor

Inner Harbour Ramgate c1969, taken by my father on 126 format slide. Although resembling a rather boxy coaster, the Agenor was in fact a very early (built 1964) car carrier with a small ro-ro ramp at the rear. However, at this time, the VW cars were unloaded at Ramsgate by the ship's own cranes. The vessel came into it's own about 5 years later when the ro-ro berth was built. She continued to transport cars into Ramsgate for VW well into the 1980s
