Neiva
Neiva
Portuguese tanker NEIVA, first VLCC of SOPONATA and first of the three ships of class N that integrated the fleet of this much missed company: Neiva, Nogueira and Nisa.

Designed to ensure the supply of the Sines refinery, NEIVA was commissioned in 1973 and entered the service in November 1976. Unfortunately, the assumptions that led to its order changed with the conjunctural changes in Portugal and at the energy level with the first shock Petroleum, and NEIVA was sold in July 1984. At delivery, it was the largest Portuguese vessel, with 323,114 gross tons and 346.24 meters in length.

After sale by SOPONATA, the vessel was called BT Investor (1986-89), Abu Rasha (1989-1990), Abt Rasha (1990-1992) and Skyros (1992-2002), and was crapped in Bangladesh in April 2002.
