Portuguese naval school wooden bark ESTEPHANIA, imo 6101362/ --m/ 2.368dt, launched as steam corvette on the 15/08/1859 by R. & H. Green, Blackwall, for Portuguese Royal Navy. In 1898 replaced the SAGRES (I) at River Douro, Massarelos, Oporto, after moved off the steam engine, as North Portugal Sailors School; 23/12/1909 the ESTEPHANIA due river flood stream broken ropes and anchor chains and went down river to the sea, where she was dismantled on the coast by heavy waves., meanwhile the young sailors were installed in a shore fire brigade station and later at Leixões new school building.
